What’s the most you’ve won or is it just a tax for the stupid.

Got 3 numbers up a while back and was expecting £30, couldn't believe it when I got £109. Turns out it was a week the money had to be won and the top prize wasn't won, so it was shared among the other payouts.

That's what daughters do.
My youngest is getting married in The Hague early next year, so Bride's dad funds that - then, because she's marrying a Mexican, we have to decamp to some godforsaken backwater in southern Mexico for a service that his family can participate in.
It's not so much the cost of that part, but the fucking travel - I've got it down to 22 hours in the air and 2 overnight stop-overs,
My plans were - until now - 2 trips a year back to Europe from wherever I am to see the saucepans; other than that - hammock, feet up, ice cold beer.
I've got more air miles than both Voyager space craft combined and no chance to use them up (before I die).

To be quite honest, I don't really know. If I've got a couple of grand spare at the end of the month I whack that into Bonds and as it hasn't bounced back yet I haven't reached the 50,000 max.
I've got an on-line account with them but fucked if I can remember the details; I can't even recall where I was when I set it all up, or the e-mail address I used. They've said that they'll sent the password reset to whatever address I've got on record, but I've had about 15 addresses since I set it all up. Looks like I'll be earning a few extra air-miles this year.
No doubt if "the big one" comes in, they'll trace me back somehow.
In any case, it's just a home for the capital, and it's the capital I plan to use to fund my retirement.

I had all the winning numbers and the bonus ball but unfortunately they were not in the same order that they were drawn.

Re: Lotto

Know a bloke who does the Irish Lotto twice a week, spends about £20 a week doing so (I think, not quite sure how it works)
Regularly wins the odd hundred, wins 4 figures at least every few months, and twice since I've known him (just under 5 years) has won five figures.
The first time it was £20k and he took himself, his wife, and his best mate and her wife off to Thailand for a couple of weeks and blew the lot.
Dunno ANYONE who's won any substantial money on the National Lottery but know a load of people who've won 3-5 figures on the Irish, and more than once.

Mike , how much do you have in PB’s?
I stuck my inheritance into them until I decide what I’m going to do with it.

Won £20 the other week, which is the most I've ever won. I know somebody who won the UK jackpot, not sure exactly how much but he liked a bet and is now working nights in a local factory!

I've won 8 25 pound prizes on the Premium bonds this year (not in November though - the BASTARDS!!!).
When I was a mere slip of an engineer my team had a "Bets & Bonds" syndicate that became virtually self-funding.
One chap left suddenly and it turned out that a bond bough in his name caught the big one. As such a syndicate was strictly against the rules, we couldn't do anything about it.

I do lucky dips. In part it's because of a refusal to believe in anything supernatural or superstitious influencing the outcome.

Re: Lotto

Was in work a few years ago on a Thursday and had a meeting at 9. It was 8.50 so I decided to quickly check my numbers on the lotto and it was like reading my ticket. I had five numbers up and won £1,208. I was well chuffed until someone said what was the bonus ball and it was 32. My number that didn't come up was 31. The prize for 5 plus the bonus ball was £140K. Felt like I had sucked a lemon. The problem I have is I have doen the same numbers on two lines since it started so can't change them now so when they change things like now having 1 - 59 numbers it is really annoying. I wish I had just done lucky dips from the start or different numbers each week. I would like to not bother but I know exactly what would happen if i didn't.
